As some of you have seen the thread "LGD knuckle grip" you know that I shoot in an "unconventional" style. I made a natural and banded it in a manner that forced me to discover "my method" of shooting.

It was to me a blessing and a curse. The blessing was I found a fun way to shoot that was unique to me, the curse was it eliminated my options if I was to purchase a high quality slingshot. So I searched this forum and came across Nathan's aka FLippinOUT for sale thread. His shooters looked nice, and even though they didn't meet the criteria of my personal shooting preference, it was enough to give me a reason to ask if he would do a special custom slingshot that would put him out of bounds to what he normally does. He took me up on the challenge to make an "one off" that fit what I dreamed I needed.

Since this is a seller's review I will mostly talk about my correspondence with him.

1) He displayed his eagerness to achieve my goal.
2) Kept the communication throughout the entire process.
3) Interpreted my descriptions, pictures, and preferences with no flaws.
4) Even though this wasn't a type of slingshot he would use, he catered it to my needs
5) His process on the steps from start to finish in dealing with me as a customer was not only professional, but showed his love of the craft of making slingshots.

This thing is not only beautiful, but SOLID. Thank you Nathan for exceeding my expectations.

To say I was impressed by his workmanship would be an understatement. I had to have one, and after trying a few at the range in Alverton I was hooked.

They all feel great in the hand. Nathans work is flawless, the laminations seem to just flow together in harmony with the wood. Finish is smooth but compliments each species of wood used. I shot some again today with it and I was impressed with how quickly I was comfortable with it and shooting as accurately as I can with my favorite shooters. I can't recommend his product enough, well thought out and executed designs by a craftsman that happens to be a world class shooter as well. I rate this slingshot an 11 on a scale of ten. Well done Nathan.

That young man can work a piece of wood! A real Craftsman, excellent shooter and all around nice guy. I bought one of his gems. Love it!

 

Flatband

I bought one of Flippinout's slingshots and immediately had to buy three others because the feel, fit and finish were so good. I feel these are Heirloom quality. The seams between the various exotic woods CANNOT be felt or discerned in any way. The wood itself is very beautifully grained, but tough, with 2 hard fork hits to prove it.

I have one custom made, according to 1:1 photocopies of my shooting hand and it fits like a glove. Nathan is the man. I sent him 4-5 pages of photocopies of my hand and told him my spec and he made a slinghot that fits me. Seems like it's sucked into the hand when I reach for it. It's the large palm swell that makes it much more comfy than any flat slingshot I've ever shot. Not only does it fill the palm, but also does it according to anatomical curves of the blade of the hand. This will be the only brand I buy.

Have rarely dealt with any company that communicated as quickly and helpfully as Nathan at
Simple-Shot. Item was posted within a couple of hours of my payment being sent. UK Customs
dragged there heals a little but thats normal. Item was delivered well packaged with brochure
offering advice about banding techniques/safety advice etc... Professional ++. As for the Scout,
totally lives up to everything I’ve heard from my fellow members on the Gamekeeper Uk
website, they are a fantastic slingshot with build quality FAR in front of what you’d expect for
this money. I have it on good authority from the boys on the forum that they are bombproof
such is their strength. I WILL be purchasing more items from Nathan.

This slingshot represents the best of the modern hand catapult. Upon first holding it, you can
tell it is quality... from the heft of the material to the ergonomics. I also really like the bands
that came on it. At first, they were too long, but a quick and simple cut with the shears and they
are zipping 10mm steel well over 200fps. Good stuff, I am buying one for all the men in my
family for Christmas this year.

High praise for this product. Nathan Masters is the consummate craftsman. I have slingshots from several prominent manufacturers of the slingshot scene but lately have been gravitating exclusively towards Simple-Shot products. This is my second Haresplitter Lite. Nothing wrong with the first but for the fact that folks keep wanting to 'borrow' it all the time. No surprises there. Also, bought my first Gen2 Scout from Simple-Shot...another winning product. Do yourself a favour and buy from Simple-Shot. You owe it to yourself to get some of the best slingshots ever.

Very nice band set. The thing that separates these band sets from others is the quality of the assembly process. If you have ever shot a Simple Shot band set, you know how well they are put together. I generally make my own bandset, but if I need one that performs perfectly over time, I use Simple Shot because of the quality of their work. I would recommend any band set they sell. Tying band sets can be tricky do right. These guys know what they are doing.

I have only very recently (this week actually) got into shooting slingshots, after research I decided initially on the Scout which I bought from Simple-Shot but was also extremely interested in the HareSplitter Lite. I put my relative lack of accuracy (TTF grouping low left and inability to compensate for a bull) with the Scout down to inexperience which seemed reasonable, still does and I settled down to practice.

I also wanted the HareSplitter and ordered it from Milbro Pro-Shot in the UK, it arrived today with some TB Gold bands, I banded it and started shooting it this morning. My first couple of shots were flyers but I soon found my target and within about 8 shots I got my first ever bull! I soon started grouping well getting a lot of bulls, I stopped when I had completely destroyed that area of the target. This is a quality, well designed and cast slingshot, the relative heft makes it feel stable, the design makes it comfortable and accurate, an excellent slingshot.

Thanks to Nathan and the simple shot team. This is my second order and it arrived quickly and I am very satisfied with all of the items I purchased. The bulk sheet latex makes very good bands for the .45 lead round balls I shoot. Seems to throw them a bit faster than theraband gold of the same cut. Also the hdpe blanks are great. Easy to work with and very durable. Thanks again for offering so many great products at reasonable prices. I will be buying all my slingshot supplies from simple shot.

I am new to sling shots and happened upon these following a 'friends' link from another web site. I am sure glad that I did. The Patriot is a blast to shoot. Good ergonomics and accurate enough to be fun at the range. I found it accurate at 7 yards in my novice hands. For the price I had a great time and look forward to buying a few more as gifts.

I purchased the Scout frame because I couldn't decide between it and the Champ. Sp I bought both. The Scout frame only was on sale with the new addition of the Gen 2 models. I've added flip clips and an assortment of different bands. The ergonomics of the Scout are second to none. The accuracy is very impressive. It's simple design along with the addition of the Flip Clips makes changing between bands and tubes very easy. The Scout is the slingshot for everyone from beginner to seasoned veteran, from adult to child. The Scout is simply awesome!

The Scout is already an icon. It is the most versatile, comfortable, easy to use slingshot available. Beginners and pros love it. It comes in a wide variety of colors and is affordable.
