Sure, we all aim. However, our immediate focus is different for those who consciously aim versus those who intuitively aim. I prefer to think of an “intuitive aim” to originate at the target and the conscious aim to originate at the shooter. To be more clear- the intuitive shooter is often hyper focused on the target with the awareness of the slingshot, bands, and pouch at the back of his conscious awareness- if at all. Both eyes are generally open and active. Whereas the “aimer” is very focused on the bands, frame, pouch in relation to the target in a conscientious way that is often not present for the intuitive shooter. Often one eye is closed or the intentional use of the dominant eye over the bands or sight plane is present.

So yes, I believe all shooting requires some degree of aiming. The intuitive shooter is doing so passively whereas the “aimer” is doing so in a direct and purposeful way.

I think the same parallel applies to say, shooting a rifle with iron sights at a stationary target versus shooting a clay in the air with a shotgun. The rifle shooter is actively and consciously lining up the front and rear sight in relation to the target whereas the shotgun shooter is focused on the moving target and trusting that muscle memory will place the gun in relation to their body and sight plane in a consistent manner. Both are “aiming”, just different modes of doing so.

Ultimately, it matters not. As long as you are having fun and hitting the target at a level of consistency you find satisfactory, it is all good!

Unlike a bow, a slingshot creates tension on one side of the supporting hand- the top. The bands create tension from one spot on the slingshot and cause the wrist to counteract those forces in order to maintain proper form. Whereas the bow creates balanced tension on the hand from the upper and lower limbs concurrently, this is not as much of a problem. The strain that the slingshot bands place on the wrist can cause discomfort in those with joint problems, weakness, or those who shoot very heavy bands. What’s more, the traditional slingshot shape, with the handle being in the same plane as the forks, moves the hand farther away from the bands and pouch, thus requiring compensation to get on target quickly.

The Hare Splitter© from FlippinOut Slingshots has mitigated these two problems: wrist strain and alignment issues! By moving the plane of the handle away from the plane of the forks and towards the shooter, the hand can be held in a neutral position allowing the skeletal structure of the hand, wrist, and forearm to bear the forces of the bands rather than the muscles and tendons as witnessed in a traditional style slingshot.

By reducing wrist strain and bringing the bands into alignment with the natural pointing ability of the hand/eye relationship, The Hare Splitter© by FlippinOut Slingshots is an exceptionally easy to shoot and very ergonomically balanced slingshot.

The Hare Splitter is in the final phases of R&D and will be available very soon at FlippinOut Slingshots. This design and the “inline” and “straight wrist” concept are Patent Pending.

Just about everything!!!

FlippinOut slingshots are built from the ground up to be precision shooting tools, made by a shooter for shooters. By incorporating an in-depth understanding of human ergonomics, I have developed a line of slingshots that not only please the eye, but fit the hand like a custom glove. I would like to take a few moments to review the high points of the FlippinOut Advantage.
•	Positive Hand Placement™- The key to accuracy is repeatability!! If you shoot your slingshot the same way, everytime- accuracy and consistency will naturally follow. Every FlippinOut slingshot maximizes this concept of Positive Hand Placement™ with the beautiful, yet highly purposeful and functional curves each model displays. These curves provide a comfy home for your hand wherein each time the frame is held, the hands must fall into these spots. Doing so creates consistency and consistency leads to accuracy!
•	Built to human proportions- I place a great deal of importance on my slingshots meeting human scale-meaning that the frames I produce fit human proportions. When one gazes upon a work of art or architecture that “stirs” the soul, that feeling can be reduced to a few foundational mathematic principles. I design all of my slingshots around the Golden Ratio and Fibonacci Sequence (this will be explored in more depth in a later blog post). Doing so allows me to create slingshots that look as good as they feel. Neither too big, nor too small. The fork width is proportional to the handle length, the width is proportional to the depth, and the cross sections are balanced. They fit the human hand perfectly!!
•	Unmatched Craftsmanship and Quality- I take tremendous pride in creating not only the most ergonomically advanced designs, but crafting them with extreme care from high quality materials. Each FlippinOut slingshot goes through extensive field trials before it is released. Material combinations are maximized for not only beauty and elegance, but for lasting durability. Each FlippinOut Slingshot is built to last, to be an heirloom and treasure to be cherished for generations.
•	The Little Things that Matter…- From the way the fork tips are shaped to the FlippinOut Tear Drop Palm Swell™, every minute detail that goes into a FlippinOut Slingshot is purposeful and intentional. This translates into a slingshot that is effortless to shoot well and begs to be fondled!

If you have not had the opportunity to try a FlippinOut Slingshot and discover The FlippinOut Difference™ you owe it to yourself to check them out at www.flippinoutslingshots.com.
