Natural forks are one of my favorite slingshots to make. Each one develops its own unique character as the slingshot living within the tree fork is set free. This particular fork began its life on top of a hill in a cow pasture, high in the mountains of North Carolina. It was an old tree but still producing a big crop of fruit, even though it was unkept for many years. The lower branches were all dead, but still on the tree and this is where this fork came from. Slightly spalted with worm tracks through the cambium, I just knew that the slingshot within would be spectacular!
